Forming around late in 2013, Evolution Of Self set their sights on making their own blend of heavy music. 5 mates coming together to collectively let their creative juices flow. Not wanting to restrict themselves to a certain sub-genre or crowd they blended all elements of their influences to create their own distinct sound. 

 

Influences such as Parkway Drive, As I Lay Dying, Lamb Of God, Machine Head & Rage Against The Machine can all be heard in a underlying way showing where this band got their roots from.

 

Mid 2014 saw Evolution Of Self get their chance to showcase their music on the live stage. Continuously playing to countless audiences in their first year as band. Even landing International supports for Nepalese band Underside & American outfit Dance Gavin Dance.

 

2015 slated as the time to lay the songs down and push for a debut release. And August 2015 saw the birth of the self titled EP. Showcasing 6 tracks of exactly what this band has to offer. Heavy, Melodic, Groovy and Passionate tracks each with something unique to offer. The EP took well after its release reaching a height of #4 on the Australian iTunes Metal Charts in its first week of release. A mighty effort for an unsigned & completely self manager band.

 

Beginning 2016 hitting the road for rural dates in Geelong, Bendigo, Ballarat as well as more Melbourne shows, Evolution of Self continue getting their music to the masses. Playing alongside some of Australia's best bands in Psycroptic & Buried in Verona things are looking bright.

 

With the debut release under their belt & more gigs than you can poke a stick at Evolution Of Self are making a name for themselves in the Australian heavy music scene. You have been warned.
